Effects of Tannin-containing Supplement on Enteric Methane Emissions, Total Digestible Nutrient, and Average Daily Gain of Local Indonesian Beef Cattle

Reducing methane (CH4) emissions is one of the most critical goals in ruminant nutrition. This study aimed to evaluate effect concentrate and tannin supplementation on mitigation gas Indonesian local beef cattle. The current was conducted vivo using 12 Bali cattle a completely randomized design with four treatments three replicates. Cattle were fed basal ration field grass (control), addition 25% dry matter (DM) no as well supplemented at levels 0.12% 0.18% DM concentrate. contains 7.5% crude protein 71.25% total digestible nutrients gambir (Uncaria Indonesia) extract. parameters measured apparent digestibility, nutrients, production, average daily gain. results showed that significantly increased consumption, nutrients. Supplementation can mitigate 49.7% production resulting energy efficiency, which reflected weight gain rate 0.75 kg/day. In conclusion, present suggest gambier extract could be considered suitable feed additive increase
